The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to support the Healthy Workplace Team. Working in this Bureau, you will cultivate a supportive environment where team members from across the province can collaborate effectively towards mental health support for OPP Members.

The Ontario Provincial Police is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.
The OPP continues to work to ensure psychological health, safety and respect are embedded into all aspects of our organization. The Healthy Workplace Team is evolving towards a practitioner-led structure, which will include regional service hubs across the province, and will be as independent of the organization as possible to ensure member confidentiality while adhering to the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
The Healthy Workplace Team provides access to a wide range of health and wellness services. Our team is comprised of psychologists, mental health clinicians, and care navigators. Our team also offers fitness and nutrition services. The Healthy Workplace Team coordinates organizational and wellness programs including, reintegration, peer support and the Chaplaincy Program. Our team also coordinates and supports the occupational medicine program for employees and managers which is delivered by an external occupational medicine team.

In this role, you will:
• Plan, direct, manage and evaluate all business operational support services, including oversight of mental health clinicians, wellness programming, strategic planning, financial management, regional staffing management, communications, information technology and general administration services.
• Participate in the development and implementation of strategic business and work plans, including member support and critical incident support response.
• Provide expert and strategic advice on critical issues management.
• Direct and manage related initiatives in support of program delivery objectives.
Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
• Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
• Ability to foster and support team dynamics in a virtual setting, across the province.
• Experience leading complex projects and high-profile initiatives, effectively utilizing resources and prioritizing tasks to deliver results.
• Develop, build and lead organizational capacity through positive and values based leadership, inclusive and engaged teams, and partnerships.
• Ability to exercise managerial and strategic leadership accountability and authority in the areas of organizational design, recruitment and retention, talent management, labour relations and compensation related matters.
• Proven progressive clinical experience, typically gained through a Masters-level clinical degree.
• Ability to frame program vision and strategy for wellness services, programs or operations.
• Ability to coordinate and lead the planning and implementation of organizational development and complex change initiatives related to mental health care within the OPP.
• Experience to develop and present strategic plans and recommend their implementation to support employee wellness and mental health within the organization.
• Ability to determine and confirm roles, objectives, parameters and resources within the Healthy Workplace Team.
• Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse internal and external partners.
• Partners with peers throughout the organization, to share information, coordinate and resolve problems.
• Manages working relationships between senior leaders.
• Ability to communicate with senior leaders to obtain clarification on policies, provide planning and performance information, coordinate high-level budget preparation and financial and performance reporting.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing contractual agreements with contractors, suppliers, service providers.
• Ability to prepare and present a range of strategic and innovative corporate service-related reports.
• Ability to represent the Bureau on various ministerial and inter-ministerial committees and working groups.
