Position: Community Food Support Worker

Department: Social Services

Employment Status: 8 months

Salary: $25.29 – 30.22 /HR – 35 Hours per Week

Location: Naughton, ON

Closing Date: June 25, 2025 at 4:00pm

POSITION SCOPE:

Under the direction of the Family Services Manager, the Community Food Support Worker will coordinate, deliver and promote the Community Food Support program to Atikameksheng Anishnawbek families and/or community members. The Community Food Support Worker will work collaboratively with Social Services staff and referrals and/or inquiries from other departments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Mandatory Requirements

• OSSD Diploma, an asset
• Two (2) years preferably in an Indigenous organization
• Experience working with Aboriginal people, organizations and communities.
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• CPIC-Vulnerable Sector Check at time of offer
• Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License with clean drivers abstract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and stock food inventory and supplies.
• Monitor budget expenses, support in seeking ongoing funding streams for food security in Atikameksheng Anishnawbek
• Purchase, order and pick up food supplies
• Maintain an access contact log
• Complete administrative functions and adhere to First Nation policies, procedures and relevant practices.
• Ensure confidentiality and safekeeping of all First Nation documents and records.
• Promote the program through newsletter and weekly flyer submissions.
• Recruit and Coordinate Volunteers for the Community Food Support Program
