What We Do

There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to six communities along the western James Bay coast, with over 500 employees, physicians, and care partners. Our services include primary care, acute and mental health services, dental, specialty clinics, population health, and the WAHA Paramedic Service. We operate community-based programs across six communities, with six paramedic bases, three hospitals, four emergency departments, one community health centre, and 72 beds. Our goal is to be a centre of excellence in Indigenous and remote healthcare, partnering with other centres to eliminate barriers and improve access to health services for our patients.

Who You Are

What You Bring

  • Secondary school diploma with relevant work experience; community college certificate/diploma in Social Services is preferred
  • WHMIS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Valid Class G Driver's license
  • Fluency in English and Cree language
