TERM: Full-Time

POSITIONSUMMARY

Under the directsupervision of the Cultural Support Coordinator, Cultural Support Worker isresponsible for delivering cultural support services for Class Members andpotential Class Members both on-reserve and off-reserve. This role focuses onproviding directcultural support, assisting with community outreach, and facilitatingtraditional healing and wellness programs. The Cultural Support Workerplays a vital role in ensuring that cultural services are accessible andaligned with Indigenous traditions and healing practices.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Adegree or diploma in social work, or a related field would be an asset.
  • Experience working within Indigenouscommunities, with knowledge of Mushkegowuk cultural practices and traditions.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informedcareand cultural safety principles.
  • Strong ability to provideemotional support while upholding cultural protocols andconfidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonaland communication skillsto build rapport with communitymembers and service providers.
  • Organizational and time-managementskills to coordinate events, workshops, and healing activities.
  • Ability to collaboratewith mental health providers and other support professionals.
  • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice (Word, Excel, Outlook) is an asset.
  • The ability to speak andunderstand Cree is considered an asset
  • CurrentPolice Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening are required.
  • A valid driver’s G orG2 license and willingness to travel as needed.
