A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform various duties related to laboratory tests and analyses. The role involves sample collection, preparation, and testing, requiring a recognized qualification in Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistance and certification with the CSMLS. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands and possess a satisfactory work record.
The Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties associated with laboratory tests and analyses. Work can involve but is not limited to: registration and collection of blood samples (inpatient, outpatient, ER patients, and pediatric) and other specimens from patients, delivering specimens to the laboratory, sorting, recording, centrifuging, preparing samples for analysis, packaging specimens for transport to other testing locations, performing manual and automated tests, staining and cover-slipping of slides in various departments, dumping surgical specimens, plating microbiology specimens, and other lab-related duties.
