2 Quest Program Educational Assistants (PNE) - Permanent

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving approximately 17,950 students across 42 schools. We focus on providing dynamic programming, current resources, and professional learning opportunities to foster growth and passions among staff and students.

We are recruiting two full-time Kindergarten/Grade 1 Quest Program Educational Assistants at Pine Street Elementary, starting August 27, 2025. This role may require personal care and involves supporting students with severe delays in communication and regulation in a smaller group setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Position Details
  • Full-time, 32.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours/day)
  • Open to internal and external applicants; priority to permanent employees

  • Support instructional, regulation, and social needs of students
  • Build professional relationships with team members
  • Assist students with communication and language development
  • Respond to individual regulation and behavior needs
  • Provide personal care, including lifts and transfers, as needed
Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with disabilities or related training
  • Behavior management training
  • Courses related to special needs education
  • Experience with assistive technology
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work under supervision
  • First Aid, CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and EA Certificate or equivalent

Note: Position involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs. and may involve challenging behaviors.
