An established industry player is seeking compassionate Outreach Counsellors to support women recovering from violence. Manitoulin Family Resources is seeking two full-time Outreach Counsellors for the Violence Against Women Prevention program. These roles support women in recovery from violence and/or abuse, working both in the community and at the emergency VAW shelter. The counsellor provides flexible, supportive client services, maintains client records and statistical data, promotes agency services, and offers public education.
This position is a bargaining unit position, averaging 35 hours per week. Outreach Counsellors deliver services across Manitoulin Island and the north-east shore of Lake Huron, from Massey to Nairn Centre. Remote work assignments are possible, requiring a suitable setting respecting confidentiality and PHIPA compliance. The position is based at the main office in Mindemoya.
