The School of Nursing in theFaculty of Education and Professional Studies atNipissing University invites applications for a 10-month Limited Term Faculty Appointment. This position is at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor rank and will start August 1, 2025. This position is located in North Bay, Ontario and will teach on-site and online.

The School of Nursing faculty members at Nipissing University are committed to excellence in teaching and research. They earn funding from tri-council agencies and other sources, publish in top nursing journals, and teach in a state-of-the-art simulation centre. The George and Helen Vari Simulation Centre is an interdisciplinary space used to enhance students’ understanding of nursing skills and theoretical development. The nursing programs provide solid preparation for entry to practice graduates and for those who want to further their studies in graduate-level programs such as Master and Nurse Practitioner programs.

The ideal candidates will have:

• A PhD in nursing is preferred.
• A completed master’s degree in nursing or closely related field is required.
• Candidates with a master’s degree in nursing and exceptional clinical experience and skills will be considered.
• A minimum of five years of nursing practice is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of scholarly achievement, strong interpersonal and team-building skills, and the ability to lead in a collegial, student-centred environment.
• Registration as a registered nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) without restrictions to practice is required.
• Demonstrated excellence or show promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching.

The candidate will be responsible for delivering six courses in the program. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach a range of courses and laboratories both on campus and in the online/hybrid format at the undergraduate level which could include:

• NURS 2016 – Introduction to care of Individuals and Families with Health Challenges
• NURS 2706 – Nursing Practice Experience 2
• NSGD 4137 – Complex Health Challenges 2
• NURS 2707 – Nursing Practice Experience 3
• NURS 2047 – Professional Nursing 2
• NSGD 4136 – Complex Health Challenges 1

The successful candidate may be invited to participate in curriculum revision and development and collaboration with the colleagues.

The annual salary will correspond with qualifications and experience and will follow the Nipissing University Faculty Association (NUFA) Full-time Academic Staff Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement. The salary for a 10-month Lecturer position will be prorated from an annual range of $65,767 to $99,079 CAD. The salary for a 10-month Assistant Professor position will be prorated from an annual range of $85,372 to $130,606 CAD.
