MAIN DUTIES :

The 1 Kitchen Supervisor at 1 Hotels will oversee the daily operations in our restaurant, 1 Kitchen. They will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests in the venue. Key duties include supervising Front of House Team Members (Servers, Bartenders, Hosts, Support), maintaining a clean and safe environment, and addressing guest needs and concerns. The supervisor will also assist with setting the team up for success with coordination with the 1 Kitchen Floor Managers as well as General Manager of Venue Operations. Additionally, they will handle administrative tasks and report any facility / restaurant issues to management. The role requires strong leadership, customer service skills, and a focus on safety and guest experience.

GENERAL DUTIES :

  • Supervise daily front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless, attentive, and warm service throughout all meal periods.
  • Support the Front of House team by being present on the floor, stepping in where needed, and maintaining service momentum during peak times.
  • Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about the menu, including ingredients, sourcing, and sustainability efforts.
  • Assist with daily pre-shift briefings, communicating service goals, Redwoods, and any operational updates.
  • Manage and adjust floor plans, seating flow, and cover counts as needed to support smooth operations.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and presentation of the dining room, host stand, and bar area.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and a solution-focused mindset.
  • Support team scheduling, timekeeping, and shift coverage in collaboration with restaurant leadership.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, billing procedures, and POS usage across all team members.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant management team to drive performance, upselling opportunities, and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local health and safety standards and ensure team compliance.
  • Uphold the standards and brand pillars of 1 Hotels by leading with kindness, sustainability, and purpose.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or restaurant management education is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role in a full-service restaurant or hotel dining venue.
  • Updated Ontario Smart Serve certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of service etiquette, food and beverage operations, and guest experience principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize tasks, and multitask efficiently.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability, wellness, and providing good-natured service.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
