A leading educational institution in Ontario is seeking an Educational Assistant to work with students with Special Needs, specifically focusing on academic, physical, and emotional support. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the school team, responsible for fostering independence and personal development in students with exceptional needs. Relevant training, like Behaviour Management Systems Training, and experience with diverse students are essential for this role.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for working with students with Special Needs (specifically physical and intellectual disabilities and behavioral or other learning difficulties). The Educational Assistant, as a professional and integral member of the school team, is responsible for providing academic, physical, and emotional support to students with exceptional needs within the school to encourage student independence and the development of their individual talents. This position works 33.83 hours per week; schedule to be determined by the Principal.
*Until further notice, a combination of experience and education may be considered to meet the required skills and qualifications. Current SMCDSB employees employed as Broader Qualified Supply Educational Assistants may also be considered.
