The candidate should demonstrate self-awareness, accountability, and possess excellent academic, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Leadership experience and expertise in educational administration are essential, along with the ability to view systems holistically. The individual must exhibit energy and enthusiasm, with skills to maximize community involvement.
Applicants must hold a valid Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification in good standing, indicating Principal qualifications Part 2, or have a clear plan to obtain them within a reasonable timeframe. Those without Principal qualifications must submit a written plan with timelines for obtaining them.
Teaching assignment depends on the successful candidate's qualifications. Special education Part 1, 2, and Specialist qualifications are preferred.
Applications must include a resume outlining qualifications and experience, an up-to-date Certificate of Qualification, and the names and contact information of three professional references, including one current or most recent supervisor. A written authorization for the Board to contact these references must also be included.
