About The Role

As an IT Technologist, you will:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot school network systems, hardware, and software.
  • Support educators and students with technology integration.
  • Build and support board-wide initiatives like cybersecurity, automation, cloud-based platforms, and information systems.
  • Ensure seamless operation of digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and training in technology-related areas.

Who You Are

You will have a 3-year Community College diploma in Computer Systems Technology (or equivalent) and ideally 3-5 years' progressive experience working in IT.

  • Ability to focus and work autonomously

For OSSTF Support Staff

  • Under the direction of the Information Technology Services Coordinator, provide support, maintenance and upgrade of all network computer hardware, personal computers and servers, all support for clients, training staff, Video conference updates and maintenance;
  • Provide support for Windows Server, Azure, M365, Active Directory, and Entra.
  • Proficient in Cyber Security, Scripting, Debugging, Troubleshooting, and collaboration on problem solving.
  • Work with teachers to assist them to use software effectively in their classrooms;
  • Work with, and manage, Windows Server, Active Directory, and limited LINUX experience is a nice to have;
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Leading and developing capacity for emerging technology, as well as expanding existing systems and projects that have board-wide scope and impact;
  • Researching best practices for implementation of systems and projects;
  • Recommending implementation plans and acting as a project leader;
  • Documenting configurations and procedures and training others on the use of new systems;
  • Communications Skills, Time Management and Planning abilities are a must.
