Qualifications

Sessional Lab Instructor

EIND 305 S02

Fall 2026

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Teaching the course content within university academic guidelines;
  • Monitoring and facilitating class discussion forums and assigning associated grades to assigned cohort students;
  • Preparing course outlines and final exams;
  • Providing academic counselling to students;
  • Invigilate, grade and submitting mid-term and final exams and papers;
  • Providing support to students working on homework assignments or preparing for mid-term and final exams;
  • Consulting with Department Heads on academic or student related matters;
  • Other related duties as per Collective Agreement as this position is a unionized position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree withat least 5 years work experience;
  • Relevant experience in teaching students in a post-secondary environment;
  • Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be considered an asset;
  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and comply with academic reporting requirements;
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and the ability to speak a First Nations language are considered assets.

Hourly Wage : This position is a part of the SASM Collective Bargaining Unit.

Stipend for Lab Instructor I is $70.05, Lab Instructor II is $72.69, Lab Instructor III is $76.90

On-Site Course

Offered synchronously in person in a designated classroom on scheduled days and times

Hybrid Course

Offered synchronously in person in a designated classroom on scheduled days and times. The instructor will attend every lecture in person. However, students will register in one of these two sections:

a)Hybrid – on-site classroom: students will attend in person in a designated classroom on scheduled days and times

b)Hybrid – remote: students will attend remotely on Zoom on scheduled days and times

Hyflex Course

Courses are offered synchronously in person in a designated classroom on specific days and times. The instructor will attend every lecture in person. However, students can attend on-site or attend remotely on Zoom with a level of flexibility on how they would like to participate each week. These class sections are designated as Hyflex online/on-site flexible.

Remotely

Courses are offered synchronously on Zoom on scheduled days and times. These courses are designated Remote Learning Delivery Spec.

On-Line (Web)

Courses donot have scheduled meeting times.

Video-Conferenced Course

This is a class section that is offered at an off-site location (Regional Colleges and First Nations University of Canada campuses) and uses video conference technology to deliver the course to multiple locations.

Off-Campus

(outside Regina – Community-Based programs) This course is delivered at an off-campus location (outside of Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert).
