Job summary

Hood Packaging Corporation in Calgary, AB is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot machine breakdowns, perform root-cause repairs, and carry out preventative maintenance across packaging equipment.

You will be part of a safety-conscious team, cover for vacations as needed, and collaborate with shift supervisors, technicians, and management to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and electrical/mechanical faults.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Strong preventive maintenance discipline and ability to plan maintenance activities.
• Experience modifying or upgrading machinery in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
• Team-oriented with good communication across shifts and departments.
• Commitment to Safety and following all safety rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and perform root-cause repairs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and minor machinery modifications.

• Successful candidate will be responsible for trouble-shooting machine breakdowns, implementing root cause repairs, preventative maintenance and machinery modifications, with the main focus being preventative maintenance
• Must be willing to cover for vacations and/or other leave(s)
• Be team oriented
• Have excellent communication skills and able to communicate with co-workers, shift supervisor(s), technical specialist and management
