About the Role:

Front-line, client-facing roles have responsibility for maintaining standards of client service deliver that align with established processes and guidelines, and are responsible for documenting accurate and timely case notes. They are required to make independent decisions that reflect good judgement, maturity and ethical behaviour while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

What you will be doing:

  • Delivery of associated program goals including delivery of services, managing volunteers, maintaining and supporting clients within a pre-defined geographic area
  • Housing Based Case management by providing supports to assist clients in delivering skills to deal with and resolve identified challenges specific to maintaining stable housing
  • Maintain a caseload of clients as required
  • Maintain client files including case notes for pertinent data collection, ensuring client confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain statistics relevant to caseloads and supports provided
  • Perform administrative duties related to case management and service delivery
  • Ensure program delivery is consistent with funding agreements, including community engagement and system navigation support
  • Plan and execute on a client service plan, including referral to other agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of service and program delivery
  • Organize and facilitate community events to enhance client and community knowledge, improve client access, and provide cultural sensitivity training
  • Liaise with private and social housing landlords
  • Provide education on landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities
  • Promotes the values of the organization within the workplace and in the community by demonstrating positive and professional relationships with others (employees, citizens, council, volunteers, advocates, etc.)
  • Reports all unsafe conditions, hazards or practices, accidents and incidents in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and adheres to all Health and Safety requirements within the MNO’s policies and procedures and provincial legislation.
  • Performs other job/branch-related duties as required.

What you will bring:

  • College Diploma (3 year) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Client service experience
  • A high degree of technology literacy and proficiency in standard office equipment
  • Advanced communications skills
  • Organization skills and time/priority-management
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, demonstrate good judgement, and make decisions independently within set processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone/independently with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of Ontario’s landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities (Residential Tenancies Act, Landlord & Tenancy Board processes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of issues affecting those experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness
  • Demonstrated social service/community supports experience
