Job summary

Niagara Health in Niagara Falls is seeking a Registered Technologist (MRT) to support radiology imaging. The role includes patient assessment, exam completion, documentation and image evaluation to maintain safety and quality.

Travel between sites is required; new graduates may be considered. This part-time position requires current MRT(R) registration, graduation from an accredited radiology program, and experience or willingness to train in CT and general radiography.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiology.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in Radiology M.R.T(R).
  • Two years radiology experience in the past five years in a similar hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the production and assessment of diagnostic radiographs.
  • Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting medical radiation practice standards as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.
  • Previous experience in CT or General Radiography is required. Willingness to train and provide coverage in both modalities is expected.
  • Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
  • Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of Hospital and Diagnostic Imaging Information and Imaging Systems and other related computer systems.
  • Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick, paid holidays and call backs.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients, perform radiology exams, and document results.
  • Evaluate and ensure quality of diagnostic images and patient safety.

WAGE RANGE: $36.84 TO $50.24 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Working to promote Imaging excellence, quality patient/client-centred care and high professional standards, the Registered Technologist (MRT (R) will be responsible for the patient assessment, exam completion, documentation and evaluation of images. The objective of the Registered Technologist is to provide safe and competent exams through the application of imaging knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. This positions home site is the site listed above. Travel between sites is required. Consideration available for new graduates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiology
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in Radiology M.R.T(R)

  • Previous experience in CT or General Radiography is required. Willingness to train and provide coverage in both modalities is expected. Experience in both modalities is considered an asset
