Job description

Overview

We are looking for an inspiring individual or couple who can walk alongside indigenous young people in Latin America, helping them navigate the tensions between community traditions and today’s pressures. This is a unique opportunity to be part of preparing the next generation of missionaries within the indigenous people groups of Latin America.

Qualifications

• Understanding of indigenous peoples, their culture and a willingness to serve, recognising that listening and learning is key to the role.
• Strong relationship with Jesus and experience of engaging with marginalised people, used to working on the edges of the mainstream.
• Experience in youth work as well as working cross‑culturally.
• Fluency in Spanish would be highly desirable, or a commitment to intensive language learning.

Placement Details

Church Mission Society places individuals, couples and families in over 45 countries around the world as we follow Jesus to the edges. Placements are self‑funding with extensive support in fundraising given to those who serve long‑term (three years or longer). All placements are subject to safer recruitment procedures, including DBS clearance. CM is only able to directly test the calling of those who are rooted in UK/European churches.
