Purpose of job

To undertake basic work performing routine duties in accordance with detailed procedures and instructions. To organise themselves to work effectively but no planning or thinking ahead will be expected. An understanding of the work of the immediate team will be needed.

Entry criteria

External some previous factory work experience with basic numeracy communication and literacy skills. A knowledge of the work duties to be acquired in the job following up to 3 months of training and familiarisation.

Level of Responsibilities

To include some or all of the following :

  • Operating simple machinery or equipment in accordance with instructions.
  • Carrying out routine assembly tasks (sub-assembly)
  • Carrying out routine manual tasks (prepare inputs and outputs to assembly packing and warranty)
  • Picking parts for assembly or dispatching.
  • Chairs functions inspection and packaging.
  • Transfer finish goods and spare parts to stock / dispatching area.
  • Completing tasks safely and to agreed quality standards.
  • Delivering a quality product to the next step in process.
  • Passing on details of completed work.
  • To load and unload container & trucks
  • Check material returned from customer
  • To scrap material approved by finance team
