ZTE is looking for an experienced Telecom Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of microwave (MW) transmission and telecom transport projects in Brazil. Based at our Berrini office in São Paulo, this customer-facing role covers the full project lifecycle, from contract handover and baseline planning through engineering, supply, deployment, integration, customer acceptance, billing and project closure.
What you will own
- Own scope, WBS, schedule baseline, critical path, resources, risks, issues, changes, quality, acceptance and closure across complex telecom delivery projects.
- Lead customer governance with Brazilian telecom operators, including operational reviews, executive reporting, escalation, negotiation and documented decision‑making.
- Govern MW rollout activities including site survey/LOS, path and link design, frequency coordination, BoQ/BOM readiness, installation, antenna alignment, commissioning, integration, cut‑over/migration, NMS/EMS integration, acceptance and as‑built closure.
- Manage project financials including budget, estimate‑at‑completion, cost control, margin protection, commercial exposure, invoicing/acceptance milestones and cash‑collection support.
- Coordinate engineering, PMO, supply chain, logistics, field services, subcontractors, quality/HSE, finance, commercial and legal teams.
- Drive supplier performance, structured change control, recovery plans and continuous improvement using data, automation and responsible AI tools where permitted by company information‑security policies.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated success leading complex, customer‑facing telecom delivery projects in Brazil, preferably for Tier‑1 mobile operators (Claro, TIM or Vivo).
- Strong project‑management capability across planning, critical‑path management, risk/issue control, change management, supplier management and executive governance.
- Solid technical fluency in telecom transport. Microwave transmission experience is strongly preferred; adjacent transport expertise with a proven ability to ramp up quickly may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of modern MW concepts such as licensed bands, E‑band, adaptive modulation, XPIC, multiband/carrier aggregation, protection schemes and capacity/availability trade‑offs.
- Commercial and financial acumen: ability to connect delivery decisions to cost, margin, revenue, cash, contractual commitments and customer satisfaction.
- Fluent Portuguese and English, written and spoken. English is mandatory and is used regularly with international stakeholders.
- Comfort with project‑control and analytics tools such as MS Project or equivalent, advanced Excel and dashboard/reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Availability to work on‑site at São Paulo – Berrini and to travel to customer offices and project locations across Brazil as required.
Preferred differentiators
- Prior delivery experience with Claro, TIM or Vivo and familiarity with its governance, rollout, acceptance and supplier interfaces. Established professional relationships are an advantage, not a prerequisite.
- Relevant delivery experience with Algar, Unifique, Brisanet, NIO/Oi, ISPs, TowerCos or other infrastructure players.
- Broader technology exposure across IP/MPLS, DWDM/OTN, RAN/4G/5G, FTTH, power and telecom site infrastructure.
- Experience working effectively in a Chinese‑headquartered or other multicultural multinational environment, bridging local customer needs and international stakeholders.
- PMP or equivalent project‑management certification; PMI‑ACP, Scrum, ITIL or risk‑management credentials are additional advantages.
- Experience using data analytics, workflow automation or responsible AI to improve forecasting, reporting, risk identification or project controls.
What success looks like
- Committed milestones are delivered safely and accepted by the customer with controlled rework and clear accountability.
- Project cost, revenue, gross margin, billing and cash‑related milestones are actively protected, supported by reliable forecasts.
- Risks, dependencies, changes and claims are identified early, quantified and driven to decision through disciplined governance.
- Customer and internal stakeholders receive a concise, decision‑oriented view of status, priorities, actions and escalations.
What success looks like
- - Contract as Brazilian Labor Laws (CLT).
- - Profit Sharing.
- - Health and Dental insurance.
- - Life insurance.
- - Birthday day off.
- - Extended paternity/maternity leave.
- - Gympass / Totalpass.
