AgileEngine, LLC is seeking a Technical Lead to drive end-to-end application engineering for a large-scale marketing analytics platform. You will review PRs, design and deploy containerized Python and React apps via REST APIs, and integrate data-heavy backends with AI feature outputs without disrupting workflows.

We are looking for a Technical Lead to drive end-to-end application engineering for a large-scale marketing analytics platform, acting as the primary gatekeeper for code quality and architecture as complex logic and AI features are embedded into an existing system. You will review all PRs, design and deploy containerized Python and React applications via REST APIs, integrate data-heavy backends and AI feature outputs without disrupting existing workflows, and lead a team of senior developers aligned to client engineering standards.

What you will do

• Review all PRs and enforce code quality standards, preventing spaghetti code and scope creep.
• Design and deploy containerized applications using REST APIs.
• Embed complex logic, AI features, and outputs from data-heavy backends into the platform without disrupting existing workflows.
• Collaborate with DevOps on the client's AWS data stack, including an S3-backed data lake, Athena, and EKS/Kubernetes, and clarify functional and non-functional requirements.
• Guide senior developers and ensure alignment with the client's engineering practices.
• Lead end-to-end application engineering while maintaining high standards for architecture, scalability, and maintainability.
• Set standards for responsible use of AI-assisted development tools and identify risky AI-driven shortcuts during PR reviews.

Must haves

• 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience with a strong track record of architectural ownership.
• Strong production experience with Python, including FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience with REST APIs, including migrating away from legacy GraphQL endpoints where needed.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and PostgreSQL, including database migrations.
• Experience building or maintaining data-heavy applications with large payloads or datasets and performance-sensitive application-layer queries.
• Working familiarity with AWS S3, Athena, and EKS/Kubernetes concepts, sufficient to drive DevOps conversations and understand how data reaches the application.
• Awareness of DAG-based task orchestration tools such as Airflow, or comparable orchestration engines.
• Strong experience working in Mac/Linux terminal-centric environments, including Bash and Makefiles.
• Practical, hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, with the critical judgment to assess AI-generated output and maintain long-term code quality.
• Strong technical communication and leadership skills, with the ability to defend technical decisions, challenge unsustainable quick fixes, and balance maintainability with pragmatic delivery.

Nice to haves

• Production experience with Athena, S3-based data lakes, or Airflow.
• Production experience implementing AI features using AWS Bedrock, LangChain, Pydantic AI, or similar technologies.
• Experience with monorepo tooling such as Nx or modern package managers such as Poetry, UV, or Yarn.
• Experience with NoSQL or caching layers such as Redis.
• Exposure to OLAP-style analytics tools such as Trino/Presto, ClickHouse, or SageMaker.
• Experience with marketing data structures, campaign management APIs, or digital advertising metrics.
