Messina Talent seeks an Account Manager for a permanent employment opportunity. This position will cover the East Coast region. Our client is a global leader in the production of composites, coatings, and chemical intermediates, supporting a wide range of industries including industrial, transportation, construction, marine, medical, and consumer goods. This position is responsible for managing and growing sales within an assigned territory, with a strong focus on maximizing margin, building strategic customer relationships, and driving business development. The role requires a proactive, value-driven approach to account management, developing and executing sales strategies, maintaining pricing accuracy, and collaborating closely with both direct and distribution accounts to support overall revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • From a seller's perspective, manage all aspects of the assigned sales territory so margin growth is maximized. This includes both direct and distribution accounts. Responsible for all pricing maintenance in SAP.
  • Create value as a seller by interfacing with assigned accounts to fully maximize sales.
  • Build and maintain rapport with key decision‑makers at strategically important accounts.
  • Develop and implement sales‑related actions (account planning, account forecasting, account strategy/tactic formation, etc.).
  • Develop and implement ‘Action Plans’ to maximize volume / profitability in your assigned sales territory (examples: price increase, new business development campaign, volume push, etc.).
  • In conjunction with the other Account Managers, develop key large accounts within your assigned sales territory
  • Complete all tasks related to the sales function in a timely manner (forecast reports, sales call reports, monthly reports, expenses reports, etc.).
  • Available to travel 50% of the time.
Position Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree. Business, Chemistry or Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years Sales, Technical and/or management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others, is a team player, and builds business relationships throughout the organization.
  • Fundamental understanding of the Coatings Industry and related processes
  • In‑depth knowledge of the selling process, Polynt business process, policies, technology, and plant capabilities.
  • Sales management tools including – Sales planning and forecast modeling.
  • Strong presentation skills, oral and written communication skills. Must have demonstrated reasonable capability in using Excel and working with pivot tables to analyze sales data daily.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Teams and Salesforce is preferred.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving, critical thinking, listening skills, and discretionary behavior.
