Job Summary

As a Copy Editor, you will be responsible for editing and proofreading a high volume of copy submitted for publishing on client platforms.

Your role involves updating content where appropriate and performing necessary rewrites to ensure clarity and adherence to the overall brand voice and tone.

Additionally, you will review all content in assigned documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency.

Responsibilities
  • Edit and proofread a high volume of copy submitted for publishing on client platforms, updating content where appropriate and performing necessary rewrites for clarity and adherence to overall brand voice and tone.
  • Review all content in assigned documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
  • Ensure consistency of elements in manuscripts, such as callouts, headers, and body copy.
  • Ensure that client‑approved style is reflected and that each manuscript is complete and ready for publishing and / or stakeholder review.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as needed to ensure quality and clarity while preserving intended meaning.
  • Incorporate changes as directed by stakeholders and platform leads.
  • Document and monitor the resolution of all content issues.
  • Determine and communicate risks, milestones, and content QA progress to client stakeholders.

  • Exceptional Grammar and Punctuation Knowledge: Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of grammar and punctuation, with the ability to recognize and correct grammatical inconsistencies and issues with sentence structure.

  • Advanced English Proficiency: Possesses strong knowledge of the English language (C1 level), including nuances in usage and spelling across various English language markets.

  • Proofreading Multimedia Content: Solid experience in proofreading multimedia and internet / web‑based content.
  • Data Entry and Word Processing: Proven data entry, word processing, and annotation skills using software such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word.
  • Content Management Systems (CMS): Working knowledge of content management systems is desirable.
