As a Tax Specialist, you will coordinate audits, gather and analyze information, manage deadlines, and support strategy with local teams and external advisors. Here, you’ll help standardize governance while enabling growth across global markets.

What your day-to-day will look like

Tax Audits and Tax Controversies

The Tax Specialist will play a key role in managing and coordinating tax audits across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring organization, information quality, and timely execution.

• Coordinate the execution of tax audits under their responsibility, acting as the main point of contact among internal teams, local stakeholders, and external advisors.
• Lead the collection, organization, and analysis of information and documentation requested by tax authorities, ensuring consistency and high-quality responses.
• Manage deadlines, deliverables, and next steps, maintaining up-to-date visibility into the status, risks, and outstanding matters of each audit process.
• Support technical assessments and response strategy development, working closely with the Senior Manager, local teams, and external advisors.
• Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of tax audit and controversy governance, driving greater standardization, control, and visibility across the function.

Business Support and Commercial Expansion

As EBANX continues to expand, the Tax Specialist will also work closely with the business, supporting the tax assessment of new commercial opportunities, markets, and operating models.

• Conduct tax assessments for new business opportunities and markets, evaluating operating models, tax obligations, risks, and pricing impacts.
• Support the tax onboarding of prospective and new merchants, ensuring key tax assumptions are accurately reflected in the operational structure.
• Contribute to the continuous review and update of Pricing tax assumptions, considering country-specific requirements, products, business verticals, and operating models.
• Analyze tax matters related to new business projects and initiatives, supporting the Senior Manager in evaluating risks, opportunities, and structuring alternatives.
• Provide technical tax support to merchants and internal stakeholders, including scenario analysis, documentation review, and specific tax-related requests.

What you need to shine in this role

• Strong tax experience, preferably within the payments industry, fintechs, technology companies, or organizations with international operations.
• Hands-on experience with tax audits and tax controversies, including document collection and review, preparation of responses, and coordination with internal teams and external advisors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy, effectively prioritizing tasks and ensuring execution in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex matters, identify risks, and recommend practical courses of action.
• Business-oriented mindset, capable of connecting tax matters to their commercial, operational, and financial impacts on the business.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, local teams, and external partners.
• Hands-on, execution-driven profile, comfortable taking ownership of key initiatives and driving them from assessment through completion.
• Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to participate confidently in discussions and interactions within a global business environment.
