A dynamic tax team is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager in São Paulo, Brazil. This role involves managing indirect taxes, ensuring compliance with local legislation, and coordinating tax audits. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in tax compliance, a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Law, and fluent Portuguese skills. Qualificações

  • Ability to prepare and file tax returns accurately and timely.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage indirect taxes, tax compliance, and planning.
  • Prepare and file all tax returns including PIS/COFINS, ICMS, ISS, IRPJ/CSLL.
  • Coordinate documentation for tax audits and liaise with auditors.

Develop tax-efficient structures for domestic and cross-border transactions aligned with business models. Evaluate related-party transaction frameworks and optimize tax liabilities. Conduct tax due diligence for investment and M&A projects, identifying risks and proposing actionable strategies to support strategic objectives.

2. Compliance & Risk Mitigation

Review contractual tax clauses and operational arrangements to ensure compliance. Lead responses to tax audits and disputes, enhancing internal controls to minimize penalties and protect corporate interests.

3. Policy Analysis & Implementation

Monitor global tax policy changes and assess business impacts. Facilitate tax incentive applications and policy adaptation, delivering compliance strategies to enable efficient operations.

4. System & Process Optimization

Drive digital transformation of tax systems (e.g., automated export rebates, filings). Design data monitoring models and SOPs to improve tax management accuracy and integration with business and finance.

Coordinate with domestic and international teams on tax filings, refunds, and intermediary oversight. Resolve cross-border tax issues, supporting global expansion and local compliance.

6. Special Projects & Capability Building

Lead tax training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Address complex tax challenges and ad-hoc tasks, ensuring comprehensive tax support for business needs.

  • The Tax Manager will be responsible for the management of indirect taxes, tax compliance and tax planning, ensuring compliance with current legislation and the optimization of the tax burden;
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax returns (direct and indirect taxes), including PIS/COFINS, ICMS, ISS, IRPJ/CSLL, etc;
  • Monitor tax compliance processes and work closely with internal accounting and finance teams to ensure tax obligations are met;
  • Manage and respond to federal, state, and municipal tax audits, including coordinating documentation and liaising with auditors and tax authorities;
  • Analyze changes in Brazilian tax legislation and assess potential business impacts, providing recommendations for compliance.

Desired profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law. Advanced degree or CPA certification preferred;
  • Solid experience in indirect taxes, tax compliance and tax planning;
  • Knowledge in tax reform;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with different stakeholders.

Language:

  • Fluent in Portuguese (native proficiency).
