Qualificações

• 1–2 years of experience in Tax or Accounting, ideally in a corporate environment.
• Basic to solid understanding of Brazilian tax legislation.
• Intermediate English - comfortable reading documentation and communicating with global peers.

We are looking for a Junior Tax Analyst to support our Tax Team with Brazilian tax demands. This role is a great opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who wants to deepen their experience in tax compliance within a dynamic, global, and technology-driven environment. You will work closely with accounting, finance, and external partners to ensure our tax processes in Brazil run smoothly and in full compliance with legislation.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our VTEX Tax Team manages every aspect related to tax planning and compliance, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our global tax operations. In Brazil, the team plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with local requirements while collaborating with other regions to maintain alignment with global standards. As part of this team, you will:

• Support tax and accounting activities ensuring compliance with Brazilian tax regulations;
• Review and assist in preparing Direct and Indirect Tax calculations and returns;
• Register and reconcile journal entries related to tax accounts (recoverable, payable, and expense accounts);
• Keep the accounting reconciliations for tax accounts updated and accurate;
• Support the implementation and improvement of SOX controls;
• Stay up to date with changes in Brazilian tax legislation, sharing key updates with the team;
• Help clarify withholding tax questions from internal stakeholders;
• Assist in preparing documentation for tax audits and inspections;
• Collaborate with local and global teams to ensure alignment between tax, accounting, and finance processes.

WHO YOU ARE

• You are based in Rio de Janeiro and willing to go to the office 1–2x a week;
• You have a Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Economics, or related areas;
• You have 1–2 years of experience in Tax or Accounting, ideally in a corporate environment or consulting firm;
• Basic to solid understanding of Brazilian tax legislation;
• Knowledge of journal entries and reconciliation of tax accounts (assets, liabilities, and P&L);
• Someone with previous experience with SAP or other ERP systems;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets;
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset;
• Intermediate English - comfortable reading documentation and communicating with global peers when necessary;
