Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the company's overall tax planning strategy to optimize tax efficiency and minimize the organization's tax liabilities.
- Conduct thorough analysis of the company's operations, transactions, and financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and planning.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest changes in Brazilian tax laws, regulations, and incentives, and evaluate their impact on the business.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting, finance, and legal teams to align tax planning with the company's broader business objectives.
- Prepare detailed tax planning recommendations and proposals, presenting them to senior leadership for approval and coordination.
- Coordinate the implementation of approved tax planning strategies, ensuring proper documentation and execution.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level.
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department.
- 3+ years of maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex) experience.
- Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database language.
This position is not directly involved in day-to-day indirect taxes compliance but is responsible for delivering the advisory planning, real time coordination, and communication of various tax-related projects across regions, including supporting engagements and negotiations with external advisors, government bodies, tax authorities, and auditors.
