You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams to deliver control solutions that maximize energy yield and system uptime.

Job Description: We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of advanced control systems for solar tracking technology. This position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable and efficient operation of utility-scale photovoltaic tracker systems. The engineer will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering to deliver innovative control solutions that maximize energy yield and system uptime. The ideal candidate is a talented engineer who demonstrates strong knowledge of systems engineering and electrical/controls engineering principles, analytical skills, system-level mindset, commitment to innovation, attention to details, and passion for the solar industry. This position is based in Sorocaba and will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with the product management, firmware, mechanical, and electrical teams to understand the customer needs and translate them into engineering requirements and practical design solutions.
• Perform system architecture design, including functional block diagrams and interface definition.
• Develop and manage system level requirements from definition to implementation and verification.
• Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for tracker motion control, stow logic and energy production optimization.
• Lead integration efforts across hardware and software components, ensuring robust operation from prototype to production.
• Create and implement test plans to bring up, debug, and validate designs to meet functional and performance goals with a focus on safety and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced English.
• BS or MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years' hands on experience designing complex electromechanical products.
• 2+ years' experience in Systems Engineering.
• Experience with the full product lifecycle, from requirement definition to design, production, operation.
• Experience operating in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional environment
• Experience performing trade studies and lifecycle cost analysis.
• Experience writing requirement specifications, verification plans and test plans.
• Strong eye toward safety, constructability, and system maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with requirement management process and tools (Jama preferred).
• Experience with MBSE.
• Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or other high-level general-purpose programming language.
• Experience with FMEA, root cause analysis, investigation of service anomalies.
• Understanding of solar industry and mechanical tracking systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
