We are looking for a Systems Engineer I – Thermal Systems & Process Engineering to support the development, modeling, and analysis of thermal systems and process plants for high-technology engineering programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing mathematical models, performing system performance simulations, sizing process equipment, and preparing engineering documentation, contributing throughout the entire product development lifecycle—from concept development to solution validation.
The position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Integration, Testing, and Product Development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop theoretical models for the simulation of thermal systems and process plants;
- Develop mathematical models for thermal and fluid flow analyses;
- Develop heat transfer models using thermal resistance methodologies;
- Select and size thermal equipment, including pumps, compressors, and auxiliary machinery;
- Select and size heat exchangers and other process equipment;
- Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs);
- Develop, review, and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs);
- Develop and maintain Process Line Lists;
- Specify industrial instrumentation and process components;
- Prepare engineering reports and technical documentation;
- Participate in technical design reviews and support engineering decision-making;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development and integration of technical solutions.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Thermal Sciences Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Experience in the development, analysis, or simulation of thermal systems and process plants.
- Experience may have been acquired through industrial projects, research and development activities, or engineering design environments.
