Could you be the full-time hybrid System Application Design Engineer in Sao Paulo, SP, BR we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates. You'll contribute to designing innovative railway signaling systems that ensure performance, safety, and operational excellence. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Engineering Managers, Sub-System Leaders, and Testing & Commissioning teams), interpret track civil work drawings to define signaling track elements, and deliver key system application design documents such as scheme plans, signaling rules, and architecture specifications, and much more.

Responsibilities
  • Interpreting track civil work drawings to define the correct kilometer position of signaling track elements.
  • Defining the position of track signaling devices (signals, track circuits, blocks, point machines, etc.) according to specific project rules.
  • Executing performance and safety simulations to design the track speed profile and minimum signal spacing.
  • Elaborating control tables with route setting rules and other characteristics based on project signaling principles.
  • Drawing the track plan in CAD format.
  • Collaborating with the Requirement Manager and Project Architect to ensure technical requirements are allocated to System Application Design.

  • Degree in Engineering (Electronics and Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Automation and Control) or a relevant field.
  • Experience or understanding of Railway Signalling domain.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software and Railway Safety standards.
  • Familiarity with signaling sub-systems, such as Train Control Systems, Wayside Interlocking, and Supervision Systems.
  • Advanced communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Capability to analyze technical queries from project teams.
  • Writing skills with clarity, rigor, and concision.
  • Adherence to engineering planning and deliverables.
  • Software skills (VBA, Visio, MS Office, and Excel).
