Job summary

Danfoss is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier development and ensure high quality across supplier networks in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. The role emphasizes process improvement, PPAP compliance, and data-driven quality management.

The candidate should have a engineering degree and proven experience in manufacturing quality tools, including PFMEA and Control Plans, with strong English skills to communicate with suppliers globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience with PPAP, MSA, calibration, Control Plans, PFMEA, and detailed manufacturing work instructions.
• IATF 16949:2016 experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving using 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams.
• Proficient in English language.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier development projects to drive suppliers to targeted quality performance.
• Train suppliers to achieve system level root cause and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Ensure supplier quality and performance data is accurate for suppliers in their category.
• Support Danfoss PPAP processes and change management.
• Maintain knowledge of global standards, tools, and templates and align with Danfoss expectations.
• Provide input to improve tools and processes.
• Verify supplier improvement plans and ensure timelines are met.
• Engage supplier representatives and management to own problems and solutions.
• Identify execution gaps and train teams to close them.

The Impact You'll Make

Danfoss is looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. You will be expected to excel in a fast pace, growing company and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement. You will need to have outstanding interpersonal communication skills to deal with customers, co-workers and suppliers. This position is located in Caxias do Sul/Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead supplier development projects to drive key suppliers to targeted quality performance levels.
• Train supplier to achieve system level root cause and to implement long term corrective actions to eliminate reoccurrence of quality rejects.
• Ensure supplier quality and performance data is available and accurate at all times for suppliers in their category.
• Ensure supplier is fully trained and capable of meeting Danfoss change management expectations. This includes notifying Danfoss of changes and completing all aspects of the PPAP.
• Maintain an expert level understanding of the global standards, tools, and templates and tie them to Danfoss expectations.
• Provide input and feedback to improve the effectiveness of the tools and processes
• Verify the supplier improvement plans are targeted to meet or exceed Danfoss expectations and that they are implemented to the agreed timelines.
• Ensure supplier representatives and management are fully engaged and taking ownership of problems and solutions.
• Identify gaps where execution does not meet expectations and train people to enable action plans to close the gaps

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

• Bachelor´s degree in Engineering.
• Preferred experience in following quality tools: PPAP, MSA, calibration, Control Plans, PFMEA, and detailed manufacturing work instructions.
• Previous quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required with preferred experience with IATF 16949:2016.
• Required experience in using problem solving skills such as 8D’s, 5 why’s, fishbone diagrams
• Proficient at Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in English Language
