Job description

Job Description: Nextracker is a leading provider of advanced single-axis solar tracking systems. Our solutions help solar power plants increase energy production and operate reliably. We’re committed to advancing the global transition to renewable energy through technology, engineering, and operational excellence. Nextracker is seeking an experienced Staff Engineering Program Manager to lead high-impact, cross-functional engineering programs from early concept through production and deployment. You’ll connect product goals with engineering execution, build alignment across teams, and help resolve the technical, operational, and business challenges that shape program outcomes. This role calls for a leader who can guide complex programs across engineering, manufacturing, product management, and supply chain; communicate clearly with senior stakeholders; and improve how teams plan and deliver work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex engineering programs from concept through design, validation, production readiness, and launch, aligning scope and priorities with company goals.
  • Translate product and business objectives into integrated program plans, milestones, resource needs, and delivery commitments.
  • Establish program governance, decision processes, and communication rhythms that keep cross-functional teams aligned.
  • Coordinate work across engineering, manufacturing, product management, supply chain, and other partner teams.
  • Track progress, dependencies, budgets, and schedule risks; identify issues early and drive them to resolution.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews and support timely decisions on scope, tradeoffs, technical risks, and resource constraints.
  • Communicate program health, decisions, risks, and milestones to stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams and help resolve disagreements constructively.
  • Capture lessons learned and improve program management practices, tools, and processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10 or more years of experience in engineering program management, preferably in renewable energy, solar, or another hardware-focused industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional engineering programs from early development through production or launch.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, product development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience building and managing integrated schedules, budgets, dependencies, risks, and program plans.
  • Proficiency with project and program management tools.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and technical teams.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make progress amid uncertainty and competing priorities.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to manage multiple programs in a fast-paced environment.
Why Join Nextracker:
  • Innovative work: Help advance solar technology with people working to expand clean energy.
  • Professional growth: Take on challenging programs and develop your skills alongside experienced professionals.
  • Collaborative culture: Work across disciplines in an environment that values teamwork, diverse perspectives, and inclusion.
  • Meaningful impact: Contribute to solutions that support the growth of renewable energy.
