The Role
Reporting to the Solution Consulting Director and based in Brazil, the candidate will be responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle related to geomodelling solutions, while ensuring the highest standard of customer satisfaction. The candidate will play a key role in the development and execution of pre-sales activities for geomodelling workflows, with deep expertise in SKUA, RMS, and subsurface characterization.
Your Impact
- Provide advanced technical support and consulting in Aspen SKUA and Aspen RMS geomodelling software.
- Prepare, present, and propose workflows for structural modeling, property modeling, seismic interpretation integration, reservoir characterization, and uncertainty analysis.
- Search, uncover, understand, and analyze client/prospect needs and requirements to grow or penetrate accounts.
- Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations on the AspenTech SSE subsurface applications suite, with emphasis on SKUA and RMS.
- Present integrated workflows combining geomodelling software with other tools in the AspenTech suite (e.g., seismic interpretation, petrophysics, flow simulation).
- Conduct pilot projects showcasing geomodelling workflows, demonstrating differentiators of SKUA/RMS versus equivalent market solutions.
- Co-develop sales proposals together with the sales team.
- Run advanced demonstrations and presentations at customer sites, workshops, and trade shows.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend proof-of-concept and evaluation opportunities.
- Develop relationships with users through personal contact, onsite engagements, and user group meetings.
- Communicate with product managers and developers on issues identified from field observations and customer feedback.
- Training – Deliver high-quality basic and advanced training on geomodelling workflows and modules within SKUA and RMS.
- Support – Provide troubleshooting and advanced user assistance; own issues until resolution or appropriate escalation. Demonstrate proficiency with internal support procedures and tracking systems.
- Professional Development – Continue to actively develop technical expertise in geomodelling methodologies, reservoir characterization, and integrated subsurface workflows. Seek opportunities for personal development of non-technical competencies.
- Technical Reporting – Complete and submit Consultant Activity Reports after each project in a timely manner.
- Provide feedback to R&D and Product Management to contribute to continued improvement of our geoscience solutions.
- Software Consulting – Deliver consulting services to execute tasks and produce deliverables related to structural modeling, reservoir modeling, seismic-to-simulation workflows, and geomodelling.
- Write papers or technical abstracts for local and international events, demonstrating the value of AspenTech SSE geomodelling technologies.
What You'll Need
- BS in Geology, Reservoir Engineering, or related subsurface discipline; MS preferred with more than 5–7 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced knowledge of geomodeling, reservoir characterization, structural modeling, property modeling, and uncertainty workflows.
- Experience working with complex geological settings such as carbonates, unconventionals, tight sands, salt tectonics, and structurally complex reservoirs.
- Expertise in handling subsurface datasets: seismic interpretations, well logs, geological maps, core data, and reservoir simulation grids.
- Capable of conducting high-quality basic and advanced classroom training on SKUA and RMS modules and workflows.
- Background in multidisciplinary collaboration to improve integrated interpretation and modeling results.
- Experience with data management, quality control, and subsurface data integration workflows.
- Proficiency with geomodeling applications, especially SKUA and RMS (mandatory).
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Excellent technical communication skills in English; Portuguese and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
