About the Role The Tech Center in Brazil is expanding, and our teams in Core Services, Delivery are looking for talented Senior Software Engineers to join and contribute to our projects. You will work with global teams to develop products impacting millions of users worldwide, while supporting our platform teams in enhancing engineering processes. Here’s a closer look at each team:

• Core Services: This team builds the foundational infrastructure and platforms that power all of Uber’s products. As a member, you\'ll develop scalable, reliable, and reusable services that are critical to Uber’s global operations. Your work here will directly influence the performance and stability of our systems, ensuring that millions of transactions and data flows run smoothly every day.
• Delivery: The Delivery team is focused on innovating and streamlining how products and services reach our customers. In this role, you\'ll contribute to building efficient and robust systems that support order processing, logistics, and real-time tracking. Your contributions will help optimize the end-to-end delivery experience, making it more reliable and seamless for both drivers and customers.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Contribute to the technical roadmap by developing innovative features and solving complex problems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement and iterate on ambitious product plans.
• Work closely with Product, Operations, Design, and other partners to ensure effective execution of projects.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical mentoring to help elevate team capabilities.
• Provide technical expertise and input to shape the vision for your area, while executing on product requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years relevant engineering experience in successfully designing and building large scale, highly available and reliable engineering systems addressing real world challenging problems.
• Demonstrated experience shipping high-quality product features on schedule and instill a high level of engineering excellence culture (e.g., code reviews, documentation, unit and integration testing).
• Strong software engineering skills, supported by 7+ years of industry experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Golang, Python, C++, Java) and eagerness to learn more.
• Experience with large-scale distributed storage and database systems (SQL or NoSQL, e.g. MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB) utilizing a microservices architecture
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write detailed technical documents.
• Proven ability to develop other strong junior engineers into senior engineers, operating and leading their own initiatives with cross team scope and high impact.
• English proficiency
• Algorithm & Data Structures fundamentals, including hash tables, trees, stacks, queues, linked list, DFS, BFS.

• Experience working at large companies (10k+ employees)
• Experience with international stakeholders
