As a Sr. Buyer this role is responsible for managing strategic sourcing across South American categories such as Hydraulics, Bearings, Electric, Electronics, Glass, Seats, and Cabs. She/He establishes and manages contracts that leverage enterprise-wide volume to reduce the overall supply base. A key part of the role involves identifying and developing new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. They ensure compliance, drive cost savings, and negotiate optimal terms to manage risk and supplier diversity. Additionally, they develop a high-level understanding of category trends, technologies, cost drivers, and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, monitor competitive factors, analyze emerging trends in goods, services, and suppliers, and use insights to guide sourcing strategies and supplier development.
Ensure full implementation of category strategies defined by the Commodity Group Manager, deliver cost savings and value creation initiatives, track KPIs and performance metrics, and address variances while optimizing the supplier base.
Coordinate supplier communications, identify diversity and development opportunities, work closely with internal stakeholders, and leverage 6+ years of purchasing experience, negotiation skills, legal knowledge, SAP/ERP systems, strong analytics, and fluency in English and relevant regional languages. Aftermarket knowledge is a key differentiator.
