Your Role and Responsibilities

Our mission in CIO is to create a productive hybrid cloud environment for IBMers.

Our strategy is to lead with design and user experience, to engineer the systems that run the business, and to innovate to transform the business.

A typical day may include :

• Exploring the capabilities of IBM and third party products and assessing against IBMs tactical and strategic needs
• Implementing new tools or features, including integrations to other solutions
• Presenting at quarterly reviews, retrospectives and participating in goal and roadmap planning
• Learning new skills, and enhancing existing ones using IBM's extensive learning platform - all employees are required to complete at least 40 hours of training each year, and are supported in earning badges, certifications and qualifications
• Supporting other squad members in their learning about solutions for which you are the owner
• Attending team standups or cross-functional interactions
• Using IBM's Slack channels to interact with other colleagues across the company on business, technical and social topics

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 2+ years working in an Agile IT environment with solution deployment
• Defining Monitoring / Observability, AIOPS, and Automation Strategy
• Defining Architecture such as Cloud, Network, and Monitoring solutions
• Deep knowledge on industry best practices in SRE, Monitoring and Observability
• Deep knowledge and experience of at least one APM or Infrastructure monitoring tool such as New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace or Instana
• Experience of integrating solutions via APIs
• Ability to express complex technical information in a user-friendly language and present information effectively to a large audience
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ability to lead a project team to implement the solutions you design / define

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Deep knowledge of technologies such as Ansible, GitHub, Kubernetes, IaaS, PaaS, OpenShift, Dockers, Helm, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and more
• Understanding of dashboard tools such as Grafana, Kibana etc
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to express complex technical information in a user-friendly language and present information effectively for large audience
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Scripting Skills using APIs, Ansible, Ansible Tower, Shell Scripting, Python or Java Script
