Job summary

Carrier is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure software and firmware quality, reliability, and performance. You will design system-level tests and collaborate with Scrum teams across the development lifecycle for Carrier’s energy management solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement system-level tests to verify functionality across software and firmware components.
• Conduct regression testing to identify issues after changes to software/firmware.
• Perform performance testing to evaluate system behavior under various conditions and loads.
• Analyze test results, document bugs, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain and update test documentation including plans, cases and scripts.
• Participate in Scrum meetings and provide QA progress updates.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure software and firmware quality, reliability, and performance through system-level, regression, and performance testing. You will collaborate with Scrum teams throughout the development lifecycle for Carrier’s Commercial Energy Management Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• + Collaborate with Scrum teams to understand product features and requirements, contributing to clear and concise testing objectives.
• + Design and implement system-level tests to verify functionality across various software and firmware components.
• + Conduct regression testing to identify any potential issues after changes or updates to software and firmware.
• + Perform performance testing to evaluate system behaviors under various conditions and loads.
• + Analyze test results, document bugs, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• + Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• + Participate actively in Scrum meetings and provide updates on QA progress and challenges.
• + Develop and implement automated testing tools and frameworks.

Requirements

• + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• + 3-5 years of experience in software and firmware quality assurance.
• + Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• + Proficient in system testing, regression testing, and performance testing methodologies.
• + Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages.
• + Experience with AI-driven QA workflows
• + Experience with Automated logic Software or Firmware products
• + Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• + Strong communication and collaboration skills.
