Amazon Financial Technology Team is looking for a results‑oriented, driven software development engineer to help create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems at our Software Development Center in São Paulo. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, relishes working with big data, and enjoys the challenge of complex business contexts defined in real time.

As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon, you will own systems end to end and influence technology that impacts hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. You will design flexible, scalable solutions and work on large‑scale computing challenges using data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented programming.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Develop projects through the entire software life cycle: requirement assessment, service design, interface creation, code development, rigorous testing, and final deployment for our tax customers.
• Evaluate, recommend, and leverage a diverse array of AWS technologies (Lambda, Fargate, EMR, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RedShift, S3, and other cutting‑edge tools) to architect highly scalable technical solutions that drive innovation and efficiency.
• Design and code technical solutions using Java, Spark, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and other modern languages.
• Build iteratively using agile methodologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object‑oriented design.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience with AWS is a plus.
