Firedev IT in São Paulo, Brazil, is seeking a Senior Java backend engineer to develop, evolve, and support scalable systems. You will design REST/JSON APIs, integrate with internal and external services, and modernize on-premise apps to AWS while ensuring quality, security, and observability.

The role requires strong Java experience (8 to 21/25), Spring Boot, React familiarity, and cloud migration know-how. You will work in a dynamic team, contributing to CI/CD and automated testing practices.

Qualificações

• Solid experience with Java (preferably Java 8 with modernization to Java 21/25).
• Experience with service architecture (modular monolith, microservices), REST APIs, integration patterns, and versioning.
• Knowledge and experience with React.
• Hands-on with Spring/Spring Boot, including security, validation, serialization, configuration, and dependency management.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, evolve, and support Java back-end systems ensuring quality, stability, and performance.
• Design and implement REST/JSON APIs and integrate with internal and external services.
• Integrate services with databases and infrastructure components, ensuring transactional consistency and observability.
• Modernize and migrate on-premise applications to AWS, supporting migration strategy and execution.
• Support standards (APIs, security, versioning, tests).
• Perform technical analysis, refinement, and decomposition of requirements, identifying risks and bottlenecks.
• Ensure engineering practices: automated testing and code review and security tooling.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents with RCA and preventive actions.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, evolve, and support Java back‑end systems (Java 8, 21) ensuring quality, stability, and performance.
• Design and implement REST/JSON APIs and integrate with internal and external services such as messaging, antifraud, reconciliation, gateways, and partners.
• Integrate services with databases and infrastructure components, ensuring transactional consistency, resilience, and observability.
• Modernize and migrate on‑premise applications to AWS, supporting legacy assessment, migration strategy, execution, and stabilization.
• Support definition and evolution of standards (APIs, security, versioning, coding guidelines, code review guidelines, unit and integration tests).
• Perform technical analysis, refinement, and decomposition of requirements, identifying risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities (performance, cost, reliability).
• Ensure engineering practices: automated testing (unit/integration/contract), code review, quality and vulnerability mitigation (Sonar, Fortify), and security (SAST/DAST when applicable).
• Contribute to CI/CD (pipelines, versioning, releases, rollback, feature flags), infrastructure as code, and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve P1/P2 incidents, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive actions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Solid experience with Java (preferably Java 8 with experience in modernization to Java 21 / 25).
• Experience with service architecture (modular monolith, microservices), REST APIs, integration patterns, and versioning.
• Knowledge and experience with React.
• Hands‑on with Spring/Spring Boot, including security, validation, serialization, configuration, and dependency management.
• Experience with Oracle databases (modeling, optimization, indexing, troubleshooting).
• Knowledge of asynchronous communication (Kafka, RabbitMQ) with idempotency and resilient processing.
• Practices in Git, code review, branching strategy, and conflict resolution.
• Experience with automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, integration tests) and quality/security tools (Sonar, Fortify).
• Experience in Linux environments (e.g., RedHat), including deployment, log analysis, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
• Experience with on‑premise environments and migration strategy to cloud.
• Experience with AWS or cloud migration, adapting applications to managed services.
• Advanced English for communication.
