Title

ALTEN is now looking for a Service Engineer for an assignment at one of our clients within the automotive sector in Sweden, Gothenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for securing optimized service and repair solutions that maximize uptime and enhance product maintainability within aftermarket operations. You will contribute to the development of structured, high-quality service solutions for technically complex products in a global environment.

Your role

You will work with ensuring efficient and reliable service solutions throughout the product lifecycle, supporting aftermarket operations with accurate technical documentation and structured processes. The position involves close collaboration across functions and a strong focus on quality, readiness and continuous improvement.

Main responsibilities

• Secure optimized service and repair solutions to maximize uptime and product maintainability
• Create, maintain and improve technical service information
• Develop preventive and corrective service instructions in line with product demands on serviceability, safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Evaluate and develop special tools and define standard times for service operations
• Ensure quality and readiness prior to release to downstream systems and processes
• Drive enhancements of global processes and tools
• Manage and coordinate technical areas across complex products and solutions
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and competence development through lean principles and cross-functional collaboration

Your profile

• Minimum two years of relevant experience within service engineering, aftermarket or technical product support
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
• Self-sufficient with the ability to plan and execute work independently
• Proactive and motivated to continuously develop your competence
• Strong analytical and structured way of working
• Experience working with complex products and system architectures
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
• Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
• Demonstrates potential for long-term professional development
