A global flavor company in São Paulo is seeking a seasoned Flavorist to enhance flavor profitability through formula optimization and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing ingredient replacements, supporting quality initiatives, and training junior flavorists. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in science, alongside strong communication and project management skills. Qualificações

  • 10 years of experience as a flavorist.
  • Completed a qualifying Flavorist training program.
  • Certified Member of the Flavor Chemist Society.

Responsabilidades

  • Improve flavor profitability by reviewing and reworking formulas.
  • Act as regional contact for mass ingredient replacement activities.
  • Support the Quality group in troubleshooting quality issues.

Purpose
  • Improve flavor profitability : review and rework formulas for cost optimization, improve manufacturing efficiency, and support business continuity.
  • Business continuity : Ingredient replacement, regulatory compliance, supply issue resolution, acquisition integration support
  • Margin improvement via raw materials and reformulation to meet a yearly defined target
  • Creative catalogue maintenance
Responsibilities
Business continuity & maintenance (25%)
  • Compliance : Work with Global Regulatory Affairs team to reformulate to meet regulatory requirements due to customer or country regulations; communicate the changes to the Creative community.
  • Ingredient Replacement : Act as the regional contact point for all mass ingredient replacement activities.
  • Supply issues : Reformulate to ensure continuity of supply of selling products whenever there is a raw material supply issue necessitating such a change.
Margin Improvement (25%)
  • Work with various internal teams to improve low margin items
  • Reformulate to meet margin improvement targets
  • Support the Global Purchasing (GP) group to evaluate new sources of ingredients
Coordination & Project Management (15%)

Support the Material Review Committee’s new raw material introduction process (15%)

  • Work with other creative flavorists and GP to improve the process and reduce lead time of new material introduction
Support the Quality group (10%)
  • Assist in troubleshooting for any quality issue and complaints
Creative Guidelines and process & Training (10%)
  • Review and set creative guidelines to ensure formula optimization and efficiency, share lessons learned.
  • Responsible to train junior Flavorists
  • Provide training to other functions
Knowledge & Experience
  • Four Year Degree / Bachelor of Science degree (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences etc.)
  • 10 years as a flavorist
  • Completed qualifying Flavorist training Program and / or proven track record at equivalent level of experience
  • Certified Member of the Flavor Chemist Society with proven track record at equivalent level of experience
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent communication, computer and math skills.
Preferred :
  • Master’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Food Engineering and / or Chemistry Engineering.
  • Proven artistic ability. Presentation skills, project management skills.
  • Proven successful mentoring of Flavorist from trainee level to Flavorist.
