Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited in Brazil seeks a Sr. Technical Architect for Shopify Plus / Headless Commerce to design enterprise-scale e-commerce architectures, migrate from legacy platforms, and lead cross-functional delivery across regions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall technology experience in e-commerce, enterprise platforms, and full-stack development.
• Proven experience as a Technical Architect / Senior Technical Lead.
• Experience delivering Shopify Plus, headless commerce, custom apps, and migrations to SaaS-based platforms.
• Hands-on with Shopify Liquid, Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensions, GraphQL REST APIs, Node.js, React, Remix, Next.js.
• Experience with cloud hosting and deployment using AWS, load balancers, routing, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and GitHub.
• Experience with ERP, PIM, marketplace, POS, payment, marketing automation, and 3PL integrations.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Architect – Shopify Plus / Headless Commerce with strong expertise in scalable e-commerce architecture, Shopify Plus, headless commerce, cloud platforms, system integrations, and full-stack development. The candidate will be responsible for architecting enterprise-grade commerce solutions, leading technical design, integrating third-party platforms, and supporting modernization/migration from legacy platforms to SaaS-based commerce solutions.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Shopify Plus, Node.js, GraphQL/REST APIs, AWS, Azure DevOps, microservices, custom apps, middleware integrations, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect scalable Shopify Plus and headless commerce solutions for enterprise e-commerce programs.
• Design end-to-end solution architecture, integration flows, runbooks, technical documentation, and release/version history.
• Develop and review Shopify custom apps using Node.js, React, Remix, GraphQL, Admin APIs, Storefront APIs, and Shopify CLI.
• Lead migration from legacy platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Drupal, Magento, WooCommerce, and AS400 to modern Shopify Plus/SaaS-based platforms.
• Design and implement headless commerce solutions using Next.js, Vercel, GraphQL, and Shopify Storefront APIs.
• Integrate Shopify with enterprise systems such as SAP, AS400, PIM, Salsify, ADAM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Klaviyo, 3PL, POS, and marketplaces.
• Build and support middleware and automation using Azure Logic Apps, webhooks, Shopify Flow, cron jobs, task schedulers, and bulk operation APIs.
• Implement payment, checkout, and anti-fraud extensions, including integrations with CyberSource, CHASE, PayPal, Apple Pay, OTP APIs, spend limits, and bot/spam protection.
• Support CI/CD, DevOps, deployment governance, release readiness, and production support using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and ServiceNow.
• Provide technical estimates, impact analysis, value-add proposals, and modernization recommendations.
• Collaborate with business, product, design, vendor, and engineering teams across regions.
• Communicate effectively in French and English, including technical discussions, documentation, stakeholder updates, and written communication.

Required Experience:

• 10+ years of overall technology experience in e-commerce, enterprise platforms, system architecture, and full-stack development.
• Strong experience as a Technical Architect / Sr. Technical Lead.
• Proven experience delivering Shopify Plus, headless commerce, custom apps, and enterprise e-commerce migrations.
• Experience developing and integrating enterprise projects and migrating multiple legacy commerce platforms to SaaS-based solutions.
