A client in Brazil is seeking a skilled database administrator with over 5 years of experience in SQL Server support and Windows Enterprise Server. This role involves establishing database standards, ensuring compliance with security policies, and providing strategic direction for database solutions. Ideal candidates will have advanced knowledge in scripting and a strong understanding of database configurations and performance tuning. The position is full-time based in São Paulo, Brazil.

Company Description

Our client in Brazil has asked us to search for bilingual Portuguese-English candidates to work in Sao Paulo.

Job Description

• To be involved in partnering with DB Platform to establish database standards - Build & Configuration, Inventory & Monitoring, Upgrade, Patching, Backup & Recovery, HA, and Technology Decision Tree Configuration.
• Provide strategic direction for DB design solutions when engaged by Engineering teams. Establish database policies and standards in compliance with SOX/SAS/PCI/USGCI/CPNI/CMMC and Corp Security guidelines and policies.
• Define and implement DBE internal governance processes to enforce DB security & compliance policies and Support internal & external compliance & security audit requests.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supporting SQL Server databases
• 5+ years working experience in Windows Enterprise Server
• 5+ years working in IT development and/or technical support
• Knowledge of Windows Server and SQL Server installation and configuration procedures.
• Very good knowledge on SQL Server memory structures, Backup & recovery Concepts, Performance Tuning, etc.
• Very good knowledge on SQL Server HA/DR configurations of FCI (Failover Cluster Instance) and AlwaysON Availability groups
• Working knowledge of hardware, including RAID, multi-processor architecture, etc.
• Working knowledge of networking and how it relates to database operations and connectivity.
• Ability to create scripts and tools from scratch needed for database administration.
• Advanced knowledge of shell/powershell scripting (i.e. command line applications, batch files, etc.)

Additional Information

Nice to have:

• 3+ years working experience in IBM-AIX and Linux
• 3+ years in supporting Oracle databases and related technologies
• Working knowledge of NoSQL Database technologies (Cassandra, Mongo, Couchbase, Redis, etc.)
• Working knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) and related virtualization platforms
