Role Description

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain high-performance software solutions that support BTG Pactual’s core banking and investment platforms. Responsibilities include implementing back-end services and APIs, writing clean and scalable code, reviewing and refactoring existing systems, and ensuring reliability, security, and performance in production environments. The role involves collaborating closely with product, business, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, participating in architectural discussions, and mentoring other engineers. This is a full-time, on-site role based in São Paulo, SP, working in a fast-paced environment that values technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, preferably in modern languages commonly used in financial services.
• Proficiency in Back-End or Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with databases and messaging systems.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems.
• Background in financial services or fintech, particularly in trading, risk, or banking systems, is highly valued.
• Ability to work on-site in São Paulo, SP, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to code quality, security, and performance.
