A prestigious educational institution in São Paulo is seeking a passionate Mathematics Teacher for August 2026. The role involves teaching IGCSE and IB mathematics, fostering a dynamic learning environment, and supporting pupils' intellectual growth. The ideal candidate has a PGCE or equivalent, experience in secondary education, and a commitment to professional development. The position offers competitive expatriate benefits and a supportive school culture.
We are seeking a passionate, talented, experienced and well-qualified mathematics teacher.
Mathematics is a strong and dynamic department in the school, offering IGCSE and IB, and pupils are routinely highly successful in public examinations.
In Forms 1 to 2 (English NC years 7 to 8) the pupils follow an enhanced English National Curriculum syllabus.
Pupils in Form 3 (year 9), Forms 4 and 5 (years 10 and 11) are prepared for the 0607 Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examination. This allows the department to push the more able, support the less able and provide a varied and challenging learning experience.
In the Sixth Form we teach all two IB Diploma mathematics courses: Analyses/ Approaches and Applications/Interpretations at both levels higher and standard.
Teachers are expected to teach across the full 11–18 age range, and timetables are constructed to ensure that each member of the department has at least one class in every key stage. The Mathematics Department does not operate a system in which teachers work exclusively with a single year group or section of the school.
Start date: August 2026

“I would highly recommend moving to Sao Paulo and Brazil. The opportunity to travel, meet new people, learn new cultures and experience so many exciting opportunities is something not to be missed. Sao Paulo really does have everything you want and need…don’t miss out!!” - Mr Lee Sutton, Assistant Head Enrichment for Whole School.
“It only took a matter of months for me to fall in love with Brazil: the warmth of its people; their optimism and zest for life; their willingness to help strangers and their ever-readiness for a party! This, against a backdrop of stunning natural beauty, incredible wildlife and some of the best beaches I have ever seen make Brazil an unrivalled country to call home away from home. More locally, São Paulo is an elating metropolis to live in: I love how diverse it is demographically; how green and leafy it is; the excellent arts and culture options; the food offering is second-to-none and the nightlife is awesome. In all, São Paulo (and Brazil) are the best places to live if you value good people, fun, quality of life and heady adventure.” - Mr Jonathan Tarrant, Second in the English Department in Senior School.
