The project: We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Engineer for this fully remote opportunity to work with a US-based client in the mortgage insurance field. You should have strong testing fundamentals and solid hands-on experience in BDD with Cucumber, API validation (REST and SOAP), and end-to-end automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement BDD test scenarios using Cucumber.
• Validate RESTful APIs (POST, GET, DELETE, etc.) and SOAP services, designing detailed and robust test cases.
• Develop automated tests using tools such as Rest Assured (for API testing) and Playwright (for end-to-end testing).
• Identify edge cases and hidden requirements within test flows.
• Collaborate with the development team to define test coverage KPIs and suggest improvements (e.g., via tools like Sonar).
• Communicate clearly in English with international teams and work independently.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in quality control.
• Proficient in Cucumber and automated API testing tools like REST Assured.
• Experience with Playwright or similar tools for UI automation.
• Good understanding of SOAP web service testing.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking in identifying testing coverage gaps.
• Advanced written and spoken level of English.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Experience with non-functional testing with JMeter or Gatling.
