Qualificações

• Bachelor of Engineering (Process, Chemical, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil)
• 15+ years in EPCM project delivery or mining operations
• Senior-level mine-site experience (2+ years) in project/construction
• Experience in risk management analysis, cost control, planning
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is preferred

Sedgman is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer, with hands‑on experience managing the technical aspects of EPCM mining projects, from concept to completion ranging from feasibility studies, front end loading (FEL), to detailed engineering, project delivery and construction. This person will be based in Brazil office with the expectation for regular site travel.

The Senior Project Engineer will support EPCM projects in Brazil, they will be involved in coordinating project activities, conducting risk assessments and developing risk management strategies to mitigate risks and to ensure the project is completed safely, meets design criteria, in specification, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and administer project activities in accordance with approved plans, designs and specifications.
• Interpret engineering designs and support effective implementation for the duration of the project.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables and manage interfaces between design, procurement and construction teams.
• Assist with the development, maintenance and tracking of project schedules.
• Monitor project progress and report on performance against programme, cost and scope.
• Arrange, administer and manage supply and works contracts in line with project requirements.
• Ensure timely issue and compliance of contracts and purchase orders with head contract and internal procedures.
• Manage scope variations, ensuring approvals, documentation and cost impacts are controlled.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant and timely delivery of works.
• Review and progress vendor and subcontractor documentation to prevent delays.
• Raise, track and close out technical queries with design teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and compliant project documentation, records and filing systems.
• Participate in site and project meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate the project risk and opportunity management process
• Facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops with project disciplines and stakeholders
• Establish and maintain the project risk and opportunity register
• Support the assessment of probability, impact, controls, residual exposures and response priorities
• Work with risk owners to define practical mitigation actions, responsibilities and target dates
• Maintain accurate records and evidence supporting risk decisions and governance requirements.

What are we looking for? Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Process, Chemical, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil)
• Will have 15+ years’ of relevant experience in EPCM project delivery, engineering, project study delivery, and/or site operations/support (in mining & mineral processing)
• Demonstrated experience at a senior level (2+ yrs) working on a mine site in a project/construction environment is requiredli>
• Experience in risk management analysis, cost control, planning, JDE (or similar cost management systems) and design coordination
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience with large (mining) clients.
• Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities
• Dedicated team player; will be self-motivated, quick to deliver on projects
• Will have a Professional Engineering designation for the country; an asset if possess other engineering certifications
• Professional fluency in Portuguese and English is strongly preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in Brazil without sponsorship
