  • Basic Qualifications : - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related technical field from an accredited university;
  • Solid and relevant carrier while managing performance, people and shop floor operations (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail);
  • Direct management experience leading salaried workforce in manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics;
  • Proven track record of leading operations with 100+ staff members;
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies;
  • Full-cycle staffing experience (interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, terminations);
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.

Our Senior Operations Managers play a crucial role in raising the bar for safety standards, exceeding expectations, and delivering a superb customer experience—critical to Amazon's success, which is built on a foundation of customer obsession and innovation.

This is a multi-faceted role that requires balancing strategy and execution.

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations within a functional area across multiple Sorting Centers in Brazil, including people management and development, process optimization, and ensuring the fulfillment of customer expectations and commitments.

You will lead a dynamic team of Site Leaders, Area Managers, and Capacity and Production Planners to achieve operational excellence through coaching, mentoring, and fostering employee engagement while building leadership bench strength within the Sorting Centers.

As a senior leader, you will oversee hundreds of employees working in a fast-paced, complex network of sorting facilities.

Our Senior Operations Managers serve as the face of the organization to employees and the local community where the center is located.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Owns and delivers the operational budget for the functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning, as well as operational goals for inbound, processing, and outbound operations;
  • Responsible for providing strategic, long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months ahead), including labor planning, rate forecasting, and peak season preparation;
  • Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and enhance productivity, ensuring business objectives are met and exceeded;
  • Works on strategic initiatives with site-wide and network-wide impact, effectively leveraging Operations and Area Managers to gather insights and address challenges;
  • Collaborates with leaders across the network to share best practices, implement process improvements, and drive efficiencies and cost savings;
  • Establishes clear objectives and key metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience;
  • Sets well-defined goals and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measuring performance, providing feedback, and holding leaders accountable;
  • Mentors and develops leaders and staff to strengthen overall team capabilities;
  • Works closely with support teams (HR, Finance, Maintenance Engineering, Safety, IT, and other leaders) to secure resources and align strategic initiatives.

Willing to travel within different regions of Brazil at least 60% of the time.
