Job Description

We are searching for the best talent for our Senior Legal Manager - Legal Support Services

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support to the Latin America Indirect Procurement team and related areas (eg. HR, Facilities, Real State, Global Services, Legal, Tax, etc), on sourcing and contracting activities, including the development, risk assessment and execution of sourcing strategies and contracting related to Indirect Procurement team and related areas (eg. HR, Facilities, Real State, Global Services, Legal, Tax, etc).
  • Lead complex supplier negotiations by partnering with the Indirect Procurement team and related areas (eg. HR, Facilities, Real State, Global Services, Legal, Tax, etc) and providing legal counsel to support high value transactions.
  • Collaborate with the other members of the STORM and GLO LATAM to improve the contracting process: (i) developing and delivering legal and contracting training, (ii) harmonizing and rationalizing templates and policies (including a Latin America Regional Contract Policy), (iii) building and refining playbooks and guidelines, (iv) identifying and adopting best practices and (v) supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Management of a Secondment Senior Legal Attorney (Law Firm in house counsel) in Brazil; management of a Secondment Senior Legal Attorney (Law Firm in house counsel) in Chile; and management of Legal Intern in Brazil;
  • Managerial activities in the STORM LATAM team (eg. efficiency projects – Innovate to Deliver; build tools to accurately track and report contracting metrics and achievements, such as compliance with SLAs, etc);
  • Chatbot Lexi management (cross sector / LATAM: all countries);
  • Communication (eg. “Quarterly Regional LATAM Newsletter”) and training (eg. “Annual Legal Week – STORM”).
  • Budget management focal point for STORM LATAM and also budget management for Brazil and LAS (Latin America South countries) regions.
  • Provide support to the Latin America regional implementation and management of “electronic tools”: (i) Chat Bot Lexi; (ii) e-Sign Platform; (iii) Centralization of tickets (changes, adjustments, improvements) for the systems Request Navigator and ICD and proper testing.
  • Partner, collaborate with, and provide counsel to other members of the GLO, and related functions, including Healthcare Compliance and Privacy, and other internal business partners, in connection with Deliver and Logistics Procurement contract-related activities.
  • GLO LATAM responsible for the creation and organization of the “LATAM Innovation Committee”.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education
  • A Law Degree with admission to (and current good standing with) the bar of at least one country in the Latin America region.
Required Years of Related Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience relevant to the responsibilities set forth above either in-house or at a major market Law Firm is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Fluency in either Portuguese or Spanish languages and fluency in English language.
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to make the complex simple and to be a highly effective collaborator in a team-based, fast-paced and matrixed environment (working internationally in virtual teams is a plus).
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, oral and written communication.
  • Ability to take ownership of job responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Strong transactional skills, including experience in drafting and negotiating complex terms and conditions (e.g. master services agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements and other general agreements) - attention to detail and the ability to review contracts in conformity with policies and identify and assess risk.
  • Strong ability to design, develop and lead strategic and process improvement initiatives and innovation is preferred.
  • Team leadership and managerial / working skills, including relationship management, interpersonal and communication.
  • Consultative style, with ability to think strategically, develop creative and compliant solutions.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with demonstrated initiative, adaptability and integrity, even in the face of difficulties or challenging situations.
