This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Java Developer - AI | Java + React based in Brazil.

This role combines senior software engineering expertise with modern AI-driven development practices in a strategic financial services environment. You will build and evolve applications across backend and frontend layers using Java and React. The position involves designing microsservices, APIs, BFFs, and integrations within distributed cloud environments. You will also work with generative AI and autonomous agents throughout the software development lifecycle, from specification and coding through testing and deployment. A key focus will be critically reviewing AI-generated outputs to ensure security, scalability, quality, and architectural alignment. You will have significant technical autonomy while collaborating with engineering leadership to advance development practices and Agentic SDLC capabilities.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and evolve applications using Java for backend services and React for frontend development.
• Build and integrate microservices, REST APIs, BFFs, and integrations with external systems.
• Use and orchestrate AI agents across specification, development, testing, and deployment stages.
• Review, validate, and improve code and other artifacts generated by AI agents, ensuring quality, security, performance, and compliance with technical standards.
• Participate in technical refinement sessions, contributing to solution design, estimates, and identification of technical risks.
• Implement and maintain automated testing, including unit, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues involving code, integrations, data, or development environments.
• Develop AI-powered automations that improve productivity, quality, and efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with technical leadership to evolve engineering practices and the organization's Agentic SDLC approach.

Requirements:

• Strong professional experience in backend development using Java and microservices architectures.
• Solid frontend development experience with React and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, BFFs, distributed systems, and external integrations.
• Experience with AWS and developing applications in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, including unit and integration testing.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and continuous delivery practices.
• Practical experience using Generative AI and AI agents in software development.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, CI&T Flow, or similar solutions.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering applied to code generation, testing, analysis, and documentation.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and identify architectural, security, performance, and quality issues.
• Strong autonomy when investigating and solving complex technical problems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with and influence technical decisions.
• Technical English proficiency for documentation and interaction with AI tools and agents.
• Experience with Agentic SDLC and orchestrating AI agents across different development stages is a plus.
• Experience in financial services, particularly transactional systems, payments, or acquiring platforms, is a plus.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and API Gateway is a plus.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems and migrating workloads to the cloud is a plus.
• Knowledge of application security, secure development practices, and vulnerability analysis is a plus.
