We are currently looking for a hazard communication expert, with expertise in Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring, preferably in SAP Product Compliance. This role will be based at our Araucaria production location, hybrid working with a possibility of permanent position. You will be in the lead for the Latin America region (with production sites in Araucaria, Campos and Orindiuva), but you also contribute to the other world regions as part of a global team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Product Safety, you will join our Global Product Safety team, part of an exciting, global and dynamic Regulatory Affairs organisation that strives for regulatory compliance, digitalisation and innovation. Our department helps Corbion to:

  • Sell products in the current and new markets.
  • Effectively communicate on product hazards internally and externally.
  • Collect, check and utilize master data for raw materials and products.
  • Automate regulatory validation and document generation for products.
  • Timely and correctly answer customer queries.

In this role, you will liaise with departments like Operations, R&D, Product Management, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Logistics. You will advise on changes to product information e.g. label data, hazard classification, Dangerous Goods classification and ensure that effective compliance policies and digital procedures are developed and maintained.

To succeed in this position, you will need to have a strong affinity to working across global matrix organisations, and comfortable interfacing with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities
  • Own daily activities to create and maintain product and raw material (master) data in SAP Product Compliance, using this for preparation of Safety Data Sheets, dangerous goods documents and labels.
  • Enable systems to work mostly automated, intervene where required and ensure documents created and stored are accurate (e.g. SDS, data sheets, labels, certificates, etc.) in order to stay compliant.
  • Participate in strategy discussions with business leaders and provide regulatory support based on this.
  • Stay up to date with various compliance topics e.g. hazard communication standards (e.g. ABNT), GHS, dangerous goods transport (e.g. IMDG, IATA, ANTT), assess impact of changes and proactively follow-up.
  • Contribute to the development of Corbion's regulatory knowledge centre (by e.g. visiting conferences, trainings and following regulatory news alerts).
  • Work closely with the Product Safety and ERP team to keep SAP Product Compliance operational, up to date and fit for future.
About you
  • Graduate (MSc. / BSc.) degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Toxicology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology and/or Occupational Health and Safety
  • Proven hands‑on experience with SDS authoring software (e.g. SAP Product Compliance) and affinity with managing product information
  • Worldwide understanding of hazard communication and product labelling, with a strong focus on Latin America. Transport of dangerous goods knowledge is considered an added advantage.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, any additional languages (e.g. Spanish) are considered an asset.
  • Team player with good networking skills and experience in managing projects and data.
  • Effective communication and digital skills, including the ability to work effectively with a team online.
  • Relevant experience in a food/ingredients company or similar company required.
  • Ability to travel within the region when required and intercontinentally each quarter.
